Opening Day Ceremonies and Game Info

Opening Day Ceremony and Game Status

Update: 3/2 6:15 am: Due to the rain, all games on 3/2 have been cancelled.  Looking at the forecast for today, there's no chance that anything will dry out in time.  Juniors, Majors, and Minors games will be rescheduled.

Original message:
I know many of you have been watching the weather for this weekend wondering what will be happening for opening day.  We have been too.

In order to have a proper opening ceremony that's worthy of our 60th anniversary, we'll be moving our opening day ceremonies to Saturday March 9th.  This does mean that a few games on March 9th will need to be rescheduled.  We're currently working those details out.  Check with your manager or check the game schedule under "Team Central" at https://www.claremontlittleleague.org.

For the games scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday (March 1st and 2nd), we're going to treat those like any other rainy day: we're going to take it one hour at a time.  The best thing to do is listen to your managers as they will most likely have the most up to date information on when and if you'll be playing.  We'll also be posting updates on the CLL web site (again: https://www.clarmeontlittleleague.org) and will do so using the "announcement" section which is the grey bar above the logo.  Please be sure to check back on the web site frequently because if the weather changes, we'll be posting updates there.

We'll also be using our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/claremontlittleleague) to push out updates as well.  You don't need a facebook account to see those updates, but you may need to scroll down a bit past the "photos" section to see the latest updates.  If you're an avid facebooker and already have liked our page, then you know where to go looking for updates.

As much as I'd like to say we'll also be sending emails out on status updates, we've found that many of our "last minute" emails don't get delivered or read on time.  Because of that, this email will most likely be the last one you'll see about rainouts about this weekend.  If we have any major news, we may use our email blast mechanism to get the word out but don't count on emails to be your main method of getting information from us.  The first step is your team's manager, after that, use the web site and our facebook page.

Thank you all of your patience and let's hope it doesn't rain too much.
